Now A New Mobile App to Connect Indian Expats in the UAE with the Consular Office

, Technology

India has truly arrived as a nation. To coincide with India’s Republic Day, the Indian Consulate in Dubai has made it easier for the Indian expatriates in Dubai and Northern Emirates to fix appointments with consular officers through a new-look mobile app. Earlier, the Indian Consulate in Dubai had launched a mobile app, called CGI Dubai, in 2015 to honour the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his 146th birth anniversary on October 2.

So, whether you are interested in a LLC Company setup Dubai or a Freezone business setup Dubai or want to start a business in UAE, you don’t have to think twice before taking that step! Here’s why?

Usually, there are several things that are areas of concern that ‘you’ as an entrepreneur/working professional will have – if there is an emergency back home in India, what support would I get from the local consulate? How easily accessible are they? Can I reach them over a Smartphone? Would I need prior appointment for that and how would I get that?

These are valid and extremely important concerns. And now, that kind of stands solved.

Anurag Bhushan, the Consul-General of India for Dubai and Northern Emirates, said that the mission is re-launching the all-new mobile app. In a press statement released on the occasion of the India Republic Day celebrations there, he said that the Consul office was committed to reaching out to Indian expats in both Dubai and the Northern Emirates. They were doing away with the first version, which, didn’t turn out to be a great success, and were launching it with new features.

The app will bring the consulate officials closer to the Indian expats. Now, appointments can be made on the mobile app for visa and passport assistance services. In fact, the app has been well-received and they wanted to make it more sophisticated. The highlight of the app would be the SOS feature. This feature would allow ‘workers in distress’ to seek help through a free call. The call would automatically connect them to a 24×7 helpline of the Indian Resource Workers Centre that has authority to immediately address the issue. This app would also have the geo-tagging option and the beta version is released.

Feedback received would be incorporated in the app. This is a major step in the expat initiative as they will remain connected to the consular office 24×7. The 24×7 call centre creates an atmosphere of trust and safety in the minds of the Expat population. So even, if you don’t need the help, yet the thought that there is help close by lets you relax and pursue your professional interests with ease in a foreign country.

Come be a part of the Dubai growth story!
